Decreased support from government sources, increasing demand for services and competition for donors are just a few of the problems that charitable groups have to overcome to stay on the surface every year. Simply said, major gift officers are higher level funds. They identify potential donors, cultivate relationships and, above all, raise funds so necessary from key supporters. For many non-profit, major gift officers are indispensable in a word. And for recruiters, the activity of finding major gift officers is in full expansion.

For this newly created role, Friends is looking for a major dynamic and relational gift officer to build and expand its individual granting program. This executive will be a key strategic partner in the major philanthropic support (gifts of $ 10,000 and above) from individual donors, family foundations and funds for donors.
The ideal candidate will be a fundraising, based on mission, oriented to relationships, with a proven track record of major successful funds, members of the Board of Directors and the construction of a philanthropy culture. This individual should be able to transmit the impact of approach with two generations and systems to change systems, inspire and hire donors and lead with warmth, confidence and authenticity.

The successful candidate will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree and/or at least five years of relevant fundraising experience.
- A passion for the Friends mission at and an approach with two generations.
- Experience with identifying donors, cultivating, demanding and regularly closing major six -digit and higher gifts.
- Remarkable verbal and written communication skills, adept at the story.
- A proven ability to engage, motivate and trusted others to action.
- The ability to maintain the confidentiality of the donor and the beneficiary.
- Constant high energy, optimism and a positive attitude.
- Higher interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with a diverse group from a cultural point of view of volunteers, collaborators and donors.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and in managing donors’ databases.
- The demonstrated ability to work independently in a team, looking for guidance as the case may be.
- A resistant “maker” based on objectives to initiate regular visits to donors and funds for fundraising.
- Management skills to work and motivate the members of the board of directors and other volunteers.
- Familiarizing with the child welfare systems, the strategies for preventing material and/or experience lived in or with the maternal assistance system is a plus.

The Friends mission is to have an impact on generational changes by empowering young people who face the biggest obstacles through long -term professional mentoring relationships for over 12 years.

Mrs. Heer is the founder and long-term president of the LLC Impact, a fundraising consulting firm that helps non-profits diversify their fundraising income and focus on an approach based on relationships to maximize the durability of fundraiser.
